JAMBE, the Japan Automotive Model-Based Engineering Center (https://www.jambe.jp), is an organization which aims to promote model-based engineering for the Japanese automotive industry. Automobile manufacturers (OEMs), component suppliers, and IT vendors are working together on three main activities: "promoting model-based engineering methodology," "promoting model reuse and exchange between OEMs and suppliers," and "solving common issues in model exchange." The latest membership count is 210 companies and organizations (as of January 30, 2026).
JAMBE is organizing joint pilot projects to validate the infrastructure, as well as the common rules and processes, for the secure and seamless exchange of simulation models between companies. In this paper, we will introduce two of these projects.
These two JAMBE pilot projects have confirmed the practicality of a method for exchanging models while protecting confidential information. The methods proven effective in these pilot projects are currently being implemented in the actual design and development processes of JAMBE participating companies.
