Dassault Systèmes is the PLM world leader and a key player of the MBSE (Model Based System Engineering) implementation in the industry. This presentation introduces the Proof of Concept (PoC) project, developed through collaboration between the University of Adelaide (UoA) and Dassault Systèmes, introduces a Virtual Twin Submarine Drone simulator. Following the Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodology aligned with the V-cycle development process, the framework spans from stakeholder requirements and specifications to system and subsystem definition. System operational analysis is captured in CATIA Magic, while dynamic multiphysics modeling is executed in Dymola using Modelica. Rather than relying on predefined animations, the drone's underwater movements are driven by real simulation data, enabling real-time interactive control, scenario testing, and pilot training. Integrated with 3DEXCITE for photorealistic 3D rendering, this immersive simulator allows stakeholders to interactively explore and validate design concepts before physical prototyping. By combining systems engineering with virtual rendering, this methodology reduces costly physical testing and de-risks development early in the design cycle.
